God’s will

God's ultimate will for man is summed up in John 3:16:

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Christ also said in Mark 12: 30 & 31:

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength; this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."

Furthermore, God has revealed His will in the Old Testament through the prophets, and in the New Testament through the teachings of Christ. If you apply Mark 12:30 to your life, you will naturally study the scriptures and learn the details of God's will concerning how you should live. We are not perfect, so we will fail to perfectly live within God's will, but we should strive to do so, and request daily cleansing.

Sin

1 John 3:4 "Sin is the transgression of the Law"

Another definition is "Sin is any lack of conformity unto or transgression of the Law of God"

My attempt at a definition would be "Sin is any thought or action that transgresses or violates the perfect will of God".

Term-sin

The Sinner’s Prayer

The Sinner’s prayer refers to any prayer of repentance prayed by indiviuals who feel sin in their lives and have the desire to form a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

The exact words are not important. Your expression to the Lord, your belief in Him, and your acceptance of Him as your Savior and Lord is the purpose of the prayer. What is important is that you have genuinely experienced a change of heart.

The Sinner’s Prayer (example)

Lord Jesus, I am a sinner and I know that I cannot save myself. I repent of my sins and ask you to forgive me. I believe that you are the Son Of God and that you died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I accept you as my redeemer and Lord. Please lead me into a more Christ-like life. Thank you.
